From the driver’s seat to 100+ trucks
DJ started trucking in 2007 as a FedEx Ground driver and drove until 2012. In 2012 he got his own operating authority and started his own trucking company, and over the next ten years grew it past 100 trucks. He nearly failed his New Entrant Safety Audit over one missing piece of the drug and alcohol program, which taught him early that paperwork can shut a carrier down.
Before trucking he worked in technology, with a background in computer engineering. He put the two together in Digital Permit Book, which keeps a fleet’s permits and documents on the driver’s device in the cab and has helped more than 500 fleets and 50,000 drivers since 2023.
